Interlochen Center for the Arts is hiring a Music Production and Engineering Teaching Fellow for 2019 Interlochen Arts Camp. The dates of the contracts are 7/15/19-8/4/19. Housing is provided for the dates contracted for the employee. All meals are included with the agreement, served in one of our three on-campus dining halls, along with meals for the employee’s family if applicable.

Salary is commensurate with experience. Teaching fellows will teach High School-aged students in the following settings: recording studios, ensemble rooms, classrooms, and live performance settings. Fellows will work in groups and one on one with individuals as students complete their music technology projects. This position reports to the appropriate Music Production and Engineering Program Director.


  • Up to 25 hours of contact with students will be assigned per week. Contact hours will be comprised of studio sessions, live performance sessions, individual laptop work.

  • Optional opportunities for performance

  • Responsible for the well-being of students during coaching and tutoring and to make decisions for student wellness as appropriate

  • Other duties as assigned, based on program need


  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt to new situations, quickly troubleshoot, and work well with others

  • Ability to interact with a wide-range of students from around the world

  • Ability to work independently


  • Must be enrolled in or recently completed a bachelor’s-level music technology degree program or higher

  • Comfortable with Pro Tools and preferably one other DAW

  • Have experience in tutoring or teaching or related work experience
