Interlochen Center for the Arts is looking to hire Part-Time Transportation Drivers to provide transportation for Interlochen students, faculty, staff and hotel guests. This position would work up to 24 hours per week, and up to 40 hours during 6 week Interlochen Arts Camp. A competitive hourly wage commiserates with experience and one meal is provided during your shift when the cafeteria is open.


Major Responsibilities: 


  • Drivers fulfill campus transportation needs, 24/7.
  • Providing safe transportation to students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors on campus as well as around the local area.
  • Transporting students to and from appointments in the local area, as well as the support of other departments on campus.
  • Maintain daily records/logs, paperwork and assist with scheduling as needed
  • Perform pre/post vehicle inspections
  • Responsible for cleanliness and basic daily upkeep of vehicles
  • Drivers may also be required to assist Campus Safety Officers and/or any other duties as need for the Department of Campus Safety and Transportation.
  • Transportation drivers are, many times the first contact students, parents, visitors and guests have with Interlochen.




  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
  • Will need to be able to drive during all types of weather conditions, including- rain, sleet, snow, ice and other types of storms
  • Able to drive in all type of traffic conditions
  • Flexible with days, shifts and hours
  • Positive public relations skills at all times
  • Able to lift and carry 50-100 pounds on occasions
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must possess the ability to accept responsibility and work without supervision
  • Criminal and motor vehicle background checks are required and drivers must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Valid class "B" CDL is required, a S and P endorsement is preferred but, training is available
  • Qualified applicants having a current First Aid, CPR and AED certification is preferable
