Interlochen Center for the Arts is looking to hire Hospitality Staff to work in Stone Hotel on the Main Campus, for the 2019 Interlochen Arts Camp. The dates of the agreement are 6/14/19-8/5/19 and the stipend for the entire duration of the contract is $1,540. An additional position is also available to work an extended amount of time 6/10/19-8/18/19 with a $2,000 stipend.  Housing is provided for the dates contracted (early arrival/late stay requests, if space is available, will be paid in full by the employee). All meals are included with your agreement- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If housing is not needed, a competitive hourly rate will be provided and one meal per shift will be included. In addition, after successful completion of the entire agreement, a $500 bonus will be provided (for both stipend and hourly employees).

Hospitality staff will work as part a team, with one year-round staff member to supervise the work shift. Summer staff will rotate through various responsibilities within our on campus hotel.  Hotel Management/Hospitality majors are encouraged to apply as this position will give exposure to all areas of hotel operations.

Major responsibilities include the following:

  • Guest check in and check out

  • Answering the phone and taking reservations, also online and in person

  • Cashier functions

  • Guest Services including guidance around campus

  • Lost and found

  • Guest Baggage Assistance

  • Housekeeping chores to be completed in teams

  • Golf cart assistance to guest cabins

  • Completion of maintenance and transportation work orders

  • Other duties as requested


  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must have a valid drivers license

  • Have excellent customer service skills

  • Cashiering experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of computers

  • Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure

  • A team player yet able to work independently

  • Able to work a flexible schedule

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task on a frequent basis

  • Able to stand at front desk during an 8-hour shift and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs

  • Able to complete housekeeping tasks independently within our hotel rooms and cabins
